Daniela Chaparro is a Mexican-American visual artist. She was born in El Paso, Texas, but grew up on the Mexican side of the border in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. She is currently based in El Paso, Texas. Chaparro holds a Bachelor's Degree in Studio Art and Education Studies from DePauw University (2021). Her practice responds to the incomplete portrayal of the border cities in dominant discourse, bringing attention to everyday scenes that may initially appear mundane but reveal nostalgia-drenched moments, unveiling socio-political complexities of her hometown and the places around her.

Chaparro has previously participated in the Sacatar Residency Fellowship in Bahia, Brazil, and is currently an Artist-in-Residence with the New York Arts Program on Governors Island, NY. She has exhibited in the 2024 Border Biennial and has been honored with awards and grants, including The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant, The Efroymson Bridge Year Fellowship, the 100 W Corsicana Residency, the Eli Lilly Endowment Scholarship, the Efroymson Summer Research Award, the Summer Internship Research Award, the Prindle Institute Research Award, and the J. William Asher and Dorothy A. Asher Fund by DePauw University.
