The bridge, the wall, and the garbage dump

I contrasted drawings of my family and loved ones with written text describing my hometown found on the book “Femicide Machine” by Sergio González Rodríguez.

One of the texts reads, “From a Very Young Age, Women are Identified as Dirty, Interested only in Money, Sex, and Fun.”  I wrote that on top of a drawing of me and my sister feeding chickens when we were five and three years old.

“Of Little Value” is a drawing of both my grandparents with their new puppy, Canelo, with red text that reads, “The people there who are considered of little value.”
